Restructuring of the MNC business in China
In 2011 after an audit by KPMG it was decided that we would have to terminate the employment of the MD, Finance Director and Commercial Director of our China business. The terminations were highly complex as the 3 individuals were French, Italian and Chinese nationals respectively. Besides the termination of the individuals the continuity of the existing business was also critical.
I was given the responsibility of managing this transition and was able to achieve the following:
- Achieve an amicable termination of all three senior managers without any jeopardy to the business.
- Identify and set up an interim management team as well as replace the roles on a permanent basis.
- Manage the stakeholders in Milan (HQ), Sydney (Regional HQ), KPM and employees in our China business
